(Jesuit) published by Sheed & Ward, London; first published in 1930, this is the second impression in the same year, made in Grear Britain. 8 by 5 1/2” in black cloth over board hard cover, gilded title on the spine face, 379 pages. The editor of the book, a noted Jesuit priest, attempts to reconstitute Newman's basic theology, systematically and in its completeness, as it was present in his own mind, through selections from his writing. Condition of the book graded Almost Fine. The cover boards show a bit of wear, with one small stain noted on the front cover, stamp of previous owner on 1st page flyleaf, but the interior text is otherwise very fresh, clean and unmarked- a collectible book in studies of the writings of Cardinal Newman.
